An international gay and lesbian short film festival is being held in Cardiff at the Chapter Arts Centre and Cineworld, on 10-14 October 2012. The Iris festival is awarding the world\u2019s largest prize for a short film, and is the only competition of its kind that gives the winner the opportunity to make a new film. Festival Director Berwyn Rowlands highlighted the importance of Cardiff\u2019s role in hosting the competition, and how the festival can also appeal to a wide audience outside of the gay community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe festival is a celebration of film and cinema\u2026 it\u2019s also about good story-telling and good film-making,” he says.
