There were over 30 comments lodged against the first application.<br \/>\nThey developers of the site, Case Morgan Developers Ltd say the flats are aimed at retired people in the area who may want to downsize and say there is a huge demand for these type of flats in the city.<br \/>\nBut at a public meeting held in October, residents raised issues such as: flooding risk, parking, increased traffic and worries over future landlords taking advantage of the flats being inside the Cardiff High School catchment area.<br \/>\nResidents say they are concerned about possible flooding at the site and local area because there is a spring and a brook running through the garden which has flooded in the past.<br \/>\nBut a flood risk expert Richard Allen, who was at the meeting on behalf of the developers, said the plans have taken this into account and it should not be an issue.<br \/>\nThe Liberal Democrat councillor for Cyncoed, Bablin Molik who organised the public meeting says,<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s an overdevelopment of the plot of land and it\u2019s not in keeping with the dynamics of the area and the character of the area.
