Forty trees on the banks of Roath Brook would be felled if the third phase of the work went ahead.<br \/>\nDavid Ravenhill, who&#8217;s 68 and has lived in the Roath area for 14 years, says the impact of the works has affected &#8220;a lot of people&#8221; living nearby.<br \/>\n&#8220;I was in tears about and I was down for ages.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had to take antidepressants because I was so upset about what happened here&#8221;.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22225\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22225\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-22225\" src=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/vlcsnap-2019-01-25-17h21m29s95-700x394.png\" alt=\"Roath resident David Ravenhill.\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22225\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-22225\" src=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/vlcsnap-2019-01-25-17h21m29s95-700x394.png\" alt=\"Roath resident David Ravenhill.\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/noscript> Roath resident David Ravenhill.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nMr Ravenhill says he&#8217;s &#8220;cautiously&#8221; optimistic that the work may now not go ahead.<br \/>\nNatural Resources Wales, the organisation responsible for the scheme voted to review the final plans separately to the work it has already carried out yesterday.<br \/>\nNo-one from the organisation was available for comment today, but in a statement they said:<br \/>\n&#8220;Decisions supporting our original proposal were not made lightly. We\u2019ve spoken directly to the people at risk and they have mixed views about whether the work should continue.
