She now wants to take matters into her own hands and launch a campaign for an increase in residents-only parking for streets around Wordsworth Avenue.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22978\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22978\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-22978 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ms-OBrien-700x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22978\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22978 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ms-OBrien-700x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/noscript> Beryl O&#8217;Brien has lived on Wordsworth Avenue in Cardiff for nearly 40 years<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nMs O\u2019Brien says traffic jams near her house are caused by a combination of factors, including taxis using the lane as a place to make U-turns and a decision by the Council to move a bus stop on the road. She says it\u2019s now \u201cdangerous for the residents\u201d.<br \/>\nShe also blames parents of children at the nearby St Peter&#8217;s Primary School for causing \u201cabsolute chaos\u201d in the mornings, and says she\u2019s had to call the police on more than one occasion because of gridlocked traffic.<br \/>\nLast year another resident on the avenue, Michael Vernon, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/news\/wales-news\/cardiff-street-full-cars-council-15288136\">Wales Online<\/a> that recycling bags hadn\u2019t been collected for the \u201clast three to four weeks\u201d due to congestion on the street.<br \/>\nThe latest campaign is due to be launched later this week.<br \/>\nLocal councillors for Roath have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People living in Roath say Cardiff Council are doing \u201cnothing\u201d to tackle parking issues on Wordsworth Avenue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":180,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[35,6,96],"tags":[],"coauthors":[],"class_list":["post-22954","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-latest","category-news","category-transport"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
