Julia Cwierz was the first person to win the eSports scholarship from Roehampton, she says after that, people began to take her career choice seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/08\/thumbnail_IMG_6637-591x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24807\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/08\/thumbnail_IMG_6637-591x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24807\" \/><\/noscript><figcaption>Julia Cwierz says that an eSports scholarship helped her and people around her to realize she could make a career in the industry. <br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/02\/JULIACLIP1.wav\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Julia is currently studying to become a solicitor, and hopes to go into law in the eSports industry &#8211; law firms are now taking eSports clients like sports teams. For people like Julia, this means an opporunity to make a living from her passion.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>John Jackson at eSports Wales believes that the real opportunities in the future lies in the other jobs that it creates; it&#8217;s not just the competitions, but the ecosystem of jobs existing around professional eSports.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8216;It&#8217;s very comparable to football; you haven&#8217;t just got the players, it&#8217;s the event organizers, the people who work in the stadiums, the people who do the marketing. I think going forward, a lot of their careers are going to be alongside [eSports]. <\/p><cite>John Jackson, eSports Wales<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>eSports Wales will be hosting the Welsh Open in March.
