The Christmas lights will be switched on in Llandaff village high street on Saturday. The festive event will be run by Calon Hearts. The organisation funds defibrillators, CPR training and heart screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sharon Owen, who is the director, said \u201cthere are 8000 cardiac arrests which take place outside of hospital and there is only a 3% survival rate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She went on to say \u201cwhen a defibrillator and CPR is used, survival rates go up to 74%. That\u2019s why we need to get these defibrillators and more importantly, get people trained on how to use them. Because that\u2019s what\u2019s important. The defibrillator will talk you through the process, it\u2019s about giving people the confidence to do the compressions. We need to start the compressions really, early.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It starts at 6pm and takes place on Llandaff High Street. There will also be a Christmas market with food and drink stalls. As well as entertainment throughout the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
