Cardiff city council run a scheme every January to collect and recycle unwanted trees. This year that doesn\u2019t seem to have happened on many streets. On Dogo Street in Pontcanna, seven trees decorate the pavements. There are reports of other trees being left scattered throughout Ely, Rhiwbina and Canton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardiff Council say their Christmas tree collection scheme is finished. They\u2019ve told people they should take their trees to the nearest tip themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hi Jade. Christmas tree collections have finished for 2023. If you still have a tree to dispose of please take to a recycling centre. Please report the tree in the planter as flytipping via the Cardiff Gov app. Thank you. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/QuickQueryCDF?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#QuickQueryCDF<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Cardiff Council (@cardiffcouncil) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cardiffcouncil\/status\/1620030831975604226?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 30, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But some residents have argued that they\u00a0<strong><em>did\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>leave their trees out at the appropriate time. Some say they have just been forgotten. Carlos, whose tree has been outside his house for over 2 weeks, says \u2018no still nothing [\u2026] maybe there is a massive backlog\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Twitter user in Thornhill said &#8216;at this rate, we\u2019ll be decorating it for next [Christmas]&#8217;, adding that there are at least 7 trees on her street. He&#8217;s worried that the build up of trees is going to become an accessibility problem. He said, &#8216;I&#8217;ve had to collect it a few times from the road [&#8230;] it was on it&#8217;s side but it just takes up to much space&#8217;.
