All lanes on the M4 have reopened 13 hours after a man died following a crash near Newport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police were called to the incident on the motorway which involved a BMW X4, Vauxhall Agila, and a Volkswagen Polo between junctions 28 and 29 heading east on Monday evening around 9pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 52-year-old driver of the Vauxhall from Newport died at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 34-year-old man from Cardiff has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently being questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday morning, Traffic Wales were reporting the eastbound carriageway between Junction 30 Cardiff Gate to J28 Tredegar Park was closed and to expect delays of more than 90 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drivers were being told to find alternative routes and to expect delays to bus services whilst emergency services remained at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Superintendent Mike Richards said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe know that there is likely to be a high level of travel disruption so we\u2019re asking motorists to avoid the area and follow the diversions which are in place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
