This year the series will visit five new venues, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/w-series\/news\/w-series-reveals-2022-calendar-including-first-race-in-asia\/7648340\/\">first ever round<\/a> in Asia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an outstanding track-record, Moore was the first female to win a Junior Mixed Gender National-Level series in the UK and to have won the Britcar Endurance Championship. They had an air-circuit at the back of their house, but she hasn\u2019t always enjoyed it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She tells <em>Further<\/em>, \u201cI have always enjoyed motorsport, but when I was younger, I was never any good at go-karting, I just did it because my elder brother did it and I got all his hand-me-downs. We all went away for a weekend and that\u2019s how it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI never won anything, but I also never finished last. I only started to enjoy it when I started winning races,\u201d she laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Speeding into supermarkets<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>After the pandemic hit, Moore was forced to stop driving. Despite this, she found a way to turn her skill of driving into helping others.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the racer got a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportmagazine.com\/articles\/single-seaters\/w-series\/sarah-moore-the-supermarket-delivery-driver-racing-at-a-grand-prix-weekend\">job at a supermarket<\/a> delivering people\u2019s food shopping. She claimed that once the realisation hit that lockdown was going to last longer than a couple of weeks, she couldn\u2019t just sit around at home.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was nice to see some people\u2019s faces because they didn\u2019t get out of the house and saw nobody throughout the day. Seeing you was the only thing they had to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore admitted that she \u201creally enjoyed\u201d the job and only gave it up in November last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her time as a delivery driver, she witnessed many strange orders. One of which was made up of a bottle of vodka and a single packet of cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019ve been doing Sainsbury\u2019s delivery since June \ud83d\udc4d actually really enjoying it<br>People are so thankful for us at this time when they can\u2019t or don\u2019t want to risk going out the house<br>It\u2019s the highlight of some people\u2019s days when we turn up, makes me smile \u263a\ufe0f<\/p>&mdash; Sarah Moore Racing (@smgirlracer26) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/smgirlracer26\/status\/1333744322450231296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 1, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rainbow racer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>While Moore helped people during lockdown, she also promotes representation for the LGBTQ+ society in motorsport. The pro driver became an ambassador for<a href=\"https:\/\/racingpride.com\"> Racing Pride<\/a>, which started by recruiting a small group of people in the UK who attended big shows such as Autosport International and Motorsport Days Live. Due to their success and popularity, they have been able to expand their programme to North America.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore praises the programme and claims their success comes from simply spreading the word. If this continues, the industry could make excellent progress.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI just think it\u2019s a case of word-of-mouth. We should always remind people that we\u2019re around and willing to talk and support,\u201d she says. \u201cWe\u2019re not racing during pride month this year which I\u2019m a bit gutted about, but I\u2019m trying to create a pride special [helmet] which I\u2019m planning to wear at Silverstone this year.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Another key moment of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LGBTQ?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#LGBTQ<\/a>+ representation this year happened exactly six months ago today, when history was made in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WSeries?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WSeries<\/a>. \ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\ud83c\udf08\ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\u26a7\ufe0f<br><br>Sarah Moore, one of our Driver Ambassadors, became the first openly LGBTQ+ driver to finish on the podium during a Grand Prix weekend. \ud83c\udfc6\ud83c\udf7e <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XdApLG7Mv9\">pic.twitter.com\/XdApLG7Mv9<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Racing Pride (@RacingPrideHQ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RacingPrideHQ\/status\/1476276428408647685?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 29, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Women racing<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Racing is an extremely male-dominated sport but W Series is changing this. The last woman in F1 was Susie Wolff who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womeninstem.co.uk\/insights\/susie-wolff-first-engineer-formula-1\/\">the first on the grid<\/a> in 22 years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Sarah, the sport still has a \u201cfair way to go,\u201d but W Series is doing \u201cfantastic\u201d work to help promote women.
