More than 30 workshops, open studios and craft stalls, the unique Christmas container market has been held in the Bone Yard, Canton.
The Ffair Nadolig Christmas Market is held in Bone Yard, a place where is consisted of several colourful containers, which located in the Riverside. This place was an old scaffolding yard and was redesigned by the artist as a container studio. Each container has been remodelled as a separate studio space. There are a total of 10 container studios and a large warehouse space to provide additional space. Bone Yard is a warm community of artists, therapists, creators and producers.Many local makers and artists run their workshops and craft stalls here.
Another different experience the customers can have in here is that the shop owners will teach them how to make their own handicrafts. They can choose to do pottery painting in Peggy’s pot, making photo frames in Katharine’s Free Range Frames and can also make lovely pom pom in Twinmade.
In this container yard, guests can drink mulled wine and eat freshly baked pizza while creating their own Christmas gifts for their family.
Guests arriving here said the friendly atmosphere is also a big reason they love to visit. It is also worth to chatting with shop owners who have different experiences here.
Zoe Evans and Daneka Norman said, “It’s the first time we come here to join in this Christmas market. Working in these containers is interesting for us. The guests here are very nice.” They owned a small shop online. This is the first time they’ve been invited to set an open studio here.
One of the shopkeepers who sell her paintings here said she was really happy to host Christmas Fair here and it was a great opportunity for everyone to know about these workshops and studios. It is also a great opportunity to show her paintings. This is the second time for The Bone Yard to organize the Christmas market here.
