A good place to shop around to prepare for your meals when you get bored of the supermarket.
Though the central market is located in St. Mary Street, once you enter the market, you can immediately forget how busy it is outside the market and feel the differences between this place with the supermarket.
Unlike the supermarket, it is made up of different types of individual stalls. You can buy vegetables next to a stall that sells electronic appliances.
In the seafood stall, besides having a big smell of salty seawater, different types of fish with bones are being placed on the ice for the customer to choose from. “If I have to buy fish for my meal, I would choose to buy it here instead of the supermarket. I can check it thoroughly and make sure that it is fresh before I buy it. I can’t do it with the one being packed nicely in the supermarket. I don’t know how long it has been in the fridge.” Kenny Taylor, a customer said.
Apart from seeing whole fish with bones instead of fish fillets in front of your eyes. When going through the raw meat stall, you may be surprised and get frightened because you would never have a chance to see a whole pig head in a supermarket. You can either buy the whole pig head back home or the part that you wish to try back home. Besides the pig head, the raw meat stall has a range of choices from different parts of both the pig and beef that you won’t find in the supermarket. If you are a meat lover, you should go and have a visit.
If the vegetables, seafood, or raw meat stalls can’t interest you. Then go to the second floor of the Central Market, you may find something that interests you if you are a music lover. There is a stall that sells Vinyl Records, spending sometimes here may have an unexpected result in a treasure hunt.
If you have already got bored with the products in the supermarket, why don’t spend the time in the Cardiff Central Market which opens on Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 5:30 pm.
