Abundant work can be appreciated in one of the most successful Welsh galleries.
Art lovers in Cardiff can join into a private viewing of an exhibition about Welsh landscape art on the 9 November.
This Winter Exhibition, also Christmas Exhibition is one of the biggest exhibitions in The Albany Gallery through the whole year and people can enjoy the new works which provided by a great number of well-renowned artists across Wales.
Today, in the Albany Gallery, this Winter Exhibition has exhibited 238 different types of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery from more than 60 artists.
“I think this is one of my favourite show. It is ok because a lot of young artists as well. You can see a wide range of topics here, many different techniques, different styles and that’s what I enjoy about coming here actually,” says Jo Mower, one of the frequent visitors.
Among these paintings, which including the work from well-known exhibitors like renowned North Wales-based landscape watercolourist William Selwyn, Swansea’s hugely popular Nick Holly.
Also, one of the frequent visitors, Fiona Lloyd Evans says, “I knew this gallery for 40 years, I got printings for my house from this gallery and sculptures. I like the winter one because they have the large group of artists, sometimes they just have two artists or one artist for the exhibition, but this one, they have 20 up artists. They have local artists and local artists do local landscapes.”
The owner of The Albany Gallery, called Mary Yapp is welcome art lovers to visit the Christmas exhibition. She said, “This is a great opportunity to buy work by your favourite artists and also to discover new art that you love and I’m very proud of all our exhibitors: they have produced some truly excellent work for this show.”
Jeffy Wood, one of the business partner, she says, “…… now people change the indication they can buy, it is very different from what it used to be, but the exhibition is busy as used to be, the opening night is busy.”
