Wales people: Who will be the successful person in the hospitality industry!

Springboard is urging people in Wales to name the person that they consider to have outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry.

People in Wales are recommended to nominate the businesses or individuals in hospitality that have made outstanding contributions to Wales during 2020.

Springboard, a charity organization, is favoring Wales to appoint the person or company that they consider having outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry for the virtual awards for excellence.

“It’s been a hugely challenging year for hospitality, but we’ve seen some amazing innovation: from the way, businesses operate, market themselves, and develop their teams, to the way they look after their people and unlock new opportunities,” says Chris Gamm, the CEO of Springboard.

“Springboard’s Awards for Excellence will be a little different this year to reflect the climate we find ourselves in.”

In the past year, the hospitality industry in the UK suffered lost sales of more than £53.3bn due to the impact of Covid19, according to the latest Future Shock report from CGA and trade body UKHospitality.

“Nearly 10,000 licensed establishments closing their doors for good. The next few months will not be the easiest for our beloved industry and it will need all the support it can get,” says Alastair Kerr, South West Regional Representative of Campaign for Pubs.

“However, despite the negative year that was 2020, it cannot be understated the positive impact overall the sector has on communities across the UK. Pubs, Restaurants, cafes, hotels & the wider industry provide a valuable service to our country, economy, and society,” added Alastair.

“We will showcase the resilience of the industry, surviving a difficult year and still going above and beyond to support their staff, adapt their business, and give back to the community,” says Chris Gamm.

The awards are open to any hospitality business that is complement for their own work over the past year.

As well as being virtual, the award criteria will differ this year, with categories added to showcase the businesses and employees that have demonstrated the ability to quickly adapt and implement new successful initiatives to support their employees and communities during the pandemic and various lockdowns.
