{"id":17870,"date":"2016-11-25T16:03:44","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T16:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/intercardiff\/?p=17870"},"modified":"2016-11-25T16:03:44","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T16:03:44","slug":"got_beef_review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/business-culture\/got_beef_review","title":{"rendered":"Got Beef: Cardiff&#039;s Burger Joint"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Two years after opening, Got Beef is continue to amaze its guests with its freshly made burgers.<\/h2>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_18015\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18015\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-18015 \" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_1-1-625x349.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_1\" width=\"604\" height=\"337\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18015\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18015 \" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_1-1-625x349.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_1\" width=\"604\" height=\"337\" \/><\/noscript> The Heisenburger and Dirty Fries<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nWe have all had a burger before, but there is something quite different about the mouth-watering, homemade meals found at Cardiff\u2019s very own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotbeef.co.uk\/\">Got Beef<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe restaurant, which is regularly listed as one of the top burger joints in Wales, opened in 2014, after it existed for two years as a pop-up business and touring food truck.<br \/>\nGot Beef, found on Whitchurch Road, has scores of raving reviews on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.co.uk\/Restaurant_Review-g186460-d6510221-Reviews-Got_Beef-Cardiff_South_Wales_Wales.html\">TripAdvisor<\/a> and a regular stream of likes on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/gotbeefcatering\/\">social media<\/a>.<br \/>\n<a class=\"twitter-timeline\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Gotbeefco\" data-height=\"1000\">Tweets by Gotbeefco<\/a><br \/>\nThe open kitchen allows diners to watch as owner Cai and his team of chefs freshly prepare burgers, which are made with Black Beef meat from a farm in North Wales and loaded with original toppings and sauces.<br \/>\nThe restaurant itself is inviting \u2013 a clean and open space with tall windows and wooden d\u00e9cor.<br \/>\nWe visited very early on a Wednesday evening as only large groups can book a table, and were the first seated for dinner. However, the room soon filled with other diners, proving its popularity.<br \/>\nFirst we ordered our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotbeef.co.uk\/drinks-2\/\">drinks<\/a> &#8211; a Harry Bromptons Alcoholic Ice Tea (\u00a33.70) and a Pistonhead Swedish Lager (\u00a33.00) \u2013 both very welcome and refreshing after a long day, however there was little description on the drinks menu, leaving us unsure what we were ordering.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18020\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18020\" style=\"width: 605px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-18020\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_2-1-625x430.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_2\" width=\"605\" height=\"416\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18020\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18020\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_2-1-625x430.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_2\" width=\"605\" height=\"416\" \/><\/noscript> A wide range of drinks were available<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nWith no starters available, we chose our main course from a varied <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotbeef.co.uk\/menu-3\/\">menu<\/a>. The \u2018Heisenburger\u2019 (\u00a37.95), claimed to be their most popular dish, was topped with blue cheese, drunken blue (yes literally blue) onions and crispy bacon, inspired by the American TV series \u2018Breaking Bad\u2019. The \u2018Soprano\u2019 burger (\u00a37.95) was topped with bacon, chorizo, Monterey Jack cheese and Jalapeno mayo.<br \/>\nThe burgers were beautifully presented on a slate board. However, as wonderful as the toppings were, the best part of the meal was the burger itself, lean and well-cooked meaty goodness.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18025\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18025\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-18025\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_3-625x417.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_3\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18025\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18025\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/11\/Burger_Reivew_Got_Beef_3-625x417.png\" alt=\"burger_reivew_got_beef_3\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/noscript> The drunken onions were literally blue!<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAt Got Beef, the burgers are served without fries, however, the prices are reasonable enough to order a decent sized side dish without feeling ripped off.
