Some high ranking officers from the Navy, Army and Air Force and the Cardiff City Mayor all had planted their poppies to those who died in service.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_25795\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25795\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-25795 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG113-625x352.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25795\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25795 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG113-625x352.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><\/noscript> The Military Wives Choir performed at the end of the service.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nA two-minute silence was observed at 11am, and then the Military Wives Choir performed. The service ended with the national anthem.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_25799\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25799\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-25799 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG114-625x351.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25799\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25799 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG114-625x351.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"351\" \/><\/noscript> Many ex-service man and women along with their family came to remember those who died in the conflicts.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAmong the many veterans who joined the ceremony,\u00a0 there was David Glyndwr, 80 years old, came to the remembrance ceremony every year, whose friend died during the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus.<br \/>\nDavid Hughes, who joined service in 1957, said, \u201cThree relatives of mine died in the war in 1940s and 1980s, but we come here to plant crosses for all those who died in conflict regardless of the Nationality, races or color.\u201d David is the chairman of the Western Front Association South Wales now.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26149\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26149\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-26149 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG118-625x352.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26149\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-26149 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/intercardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2017\/11\/WechatIMG118-625x352.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><\/noscript> A visitor is reading the messages on the crosses.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nIt was not just the veterans and those current members of the Armed Forces paying tributes to the fallen. Reginald Herbert Luths, whose grand father died in the First World War, the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of April 1917, came here to pay her respect to him. She said, \u201cI think he and people like him died for our freedom, I am proud of him.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s so nice to remember those who died in a specific day,\u201d said Kath David, who attended the ceremony. Her second cousin died in the second world war, in a low level flying in the Scotland, and her uncle was killed in the First World War.<br \/>\nThe Fields of Remembrance are created by The Royal British Legion every November and Cardiff is one of the six across the UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former and current members of the Armed Forces, along with general public, donned poppies to remember the fallen.
