This episode of Deep Dive explores the myth surrounding water safety. With open water swimming on the rise, we ask if all water is clean and safe to swim in? To help us tackle this myth, we are joined by \u2018The Wild Woman of the Wye\u2019, Angela Jones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angela<\/a> is an environmentalist and river campaigner. She has dedicated the last six years of her life to raising awareness of river pollution and specifically the damage caused to her local and beloved River Wye, which runs between England and Wales<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She recently protested<\/a> on the BBC\u2019s Newsnight and, in 2021, she swam up the Wye with a coffin<\/a> marked with the words \u2018Death of the Wye\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
