Cardiff\u00a0council carrying out a series of improvements there.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Whitchurch Police and Communities Together group had complained that Pendwyallt Road was unsafe but the city council disagreed as there had been no deaths in accidents.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But, through a Freedom of Information request, the leader of Whitchurch PACT Janice Hughes, found there had been 40 incidents on the road from\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2011 to 2016.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to\u00a0the South Wales Police statistics there had been only 17 incidents in the previous five years<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14497\" lights has been altered.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In August, Whitchurch PACT and local councillors, agreed that changes were needed and the c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ouncil agreed to cut back a hedge, reposition a Children Crossing sign and change the timing of the crossing lights.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The council also plans to look at the crossing close to Pantmawr Road once the nearby Hollybush pub has completed\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">its own changes.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Matt Wakelam, head of infrastructure and operations, said: \u201cThe council is aware that the pub may change the use of the car park adjacent to Pantmawr Road to an extension and fenced beer garden.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis may support improved crossing in this location closer to the junction and even funding for a zebra via sign to be placed between Coryton interchange and Whitworth Square to help drivers improve awareness of their speed.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ms\u00a0Hughes was pleased with progress but still has some concerns.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMy greatest worry is that changes like drivers feedback sign along with other promised improvement like the crossing on Pantmawr road will be pencilled in for the new financial year, in April.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn May we have council elections and these improvements will take a back seat and maybe this time next year I will be having the same conversation.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Matt Wakelam said that the drivers feedback sign would be
