One couple are coming from England for a second viewing this weekend. The developer sourced the right materials to make a house for the people it attracts.\u201d <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Liv Eco homes, which promise lower fuel bills, are installed with pumps which generate heat from body warmth and other energy saving appliances.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The homes, sold in association with the Nissan Leaf, also include areas to charge electric cars to encourage drivers to abandon petrol and diesel.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17662\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17662\" Council will own 30% of each new build. This share must\u00a0be repaid when the property is sold or when the owner chooses to buy the property at a later date.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Cardiff Council spokesperson said: \u201cThe potential homeowner will use a mortgage or personal savings to buy 70% of a property and the council will fund the remaining 30%. Unlike similar national schemes, if the homeowner doesn\u2019t want to choose this option, they can continue to pay their current mortgage on the 70% share until they are ready to sell their property.\u201d <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> be eligible for the assisted housing scheme, which was established in Cardiff 12 years ago, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be a first-time buyer,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">over 18<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have lived or worked in Cardiff for at least the last six\u00a0months<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be a UK or EU\/EEA passport holder or have an Indefinite Leave to Remain stamp on your passport.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be able to meet the long-term financial commitment of home ownership, and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be registered to the assisted home ownership scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Liv Eco properties will be completed in May 2017. \u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mvMuJGerf6k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><noscript><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mvMuJGerf6k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ECO-FRIENDLY\u00a0houses, complete with electric car chargers, promise to lower electricity bills in an attempt to encourage first-time buyers in Cardiff to go green.
