H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">e and the other bishops are talking to\u00a0members of diocesan bodies, area deans, and standing committees made up of clergy and lay people.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Church members are invited to email their bishops with comments, with those in the Llandaff diocese asked to email Bishop John.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Church In Wales has pledged\u00a0the consultation would focus on \u201cthe ongoing and future needs of the Diocese of Llandaff and its communities\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some church members, however, are still wondering why <a href=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/2017\/02\/28\/questions-asked-gay-cleric-misses-bishop-llandaff-role\/\">Jeffrey John was rejected in the last round<\/a>\u00a0despite being the favourite of the mainly liberal diocese.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The parish of Newton, Nottage and Porthcawl has shown its support for Tonyrefail-born\u00a0Jeffrey John by posting his picture on its official Facebook page, referring to the consultation process and giving details of how to email Bishop John.<\/span><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18646\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18646\" style=\"width: 496px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-18646 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/Screen-Shot-2017-03-07-at-15.08.43.png\" alt=\"The post from Parish of Newton, Nottage and Porthcawl's facebook page on March 3. The two met first when they studied at Oxford and the Very Rev Dr John is godfather of his eldest child.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI think he would make a great bishop,&#8221; said Canon Masson.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;The &#8216;campaign&#8217; is in favour of the electors and we should respect their decision. Llandaff electors spent a long time considering this and his was the name they put before the clergy. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;I can\u2019t tell you whether people found his civil partnership disquieting but the policy in Wales is that such relationships should be condoned.
