raffle on Monday and awarded prizes to the first three names drawn.<br \/>\nFirst prize was a loaf of bread every week for a year, second prize was a hamper of\u00a0bakery goods worth \u00a330 and third prize was afternoon tea for two at the Pettigrew Tea Rooms.<br \/>\nDavid Le Masurier opened Pettigrew Bakery on St David\u2019s Day in 2016 and also owns\u00a0Pettigrew Tea Rooms in Bute \/><\/noscript> Brioche burger buns are a new edition to Pettigrew Bakeries<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nHe said the celebration was to thank their regular customers for the past year.<br \/>\n\u201cWe didn\u2019t really put the word out about it. It was more to thank people for coming. It wasn\u2019t about advertising,\u201d said Mr Le Masurier, 35, from Llandaff.<br \/>\nThe bakery sold customers more than 300 50p raffle tickets in two weeks with all the money going to Mind Cymru, a mental health charity.<br \/>\nMr Le Masurier said: \u201cI was absolutely blown away by the response. I didn\u2019t expect that so many people would be interested in the bread. We only ran for two weeks and we didn\u2019t advertise it. A year ago we weren\u2019t even open and I didn\u2019t expect this. I\u2019m really grateful for the support.<br \/>\n\u201cThere\u2019s a real buzz in the area. I love that there\u2019s so much happening and the response from local people has been amazing,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is nothing more visceral than making bread and the things that people come in for every day. This is the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever done but I feel very satisfied. Bread is amazing, it&#8217;s a real art. Craft brewing is massive right now and we\u2019re like its best friends. We\u2019re craft bakers,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nLucy Lloyd, senior community fundraiser at Mind Cymru, said: \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased that Pettigrew Bakery has chosen to raise money for us and we\u2019re delighted that they\u2019ve raised more than \u00a3150. The money will help us to support more people in Cardiff and beyond, so we\u2019re really grateful for their support.\u201d<br \/>\nMr Le Masurier said: \u201cMental health is a big issue that\u2019s not given as much space as other charities. Mind seemed like a really good fit and and they were very happy with our efforts.\u201d<br \/>\nWhen the bakery first opened, it raised money for Barnardo&#8217;s. Over Christmas, it raised \u00a3250 for Shelter, a homeless charity.<br \/>\n\u201cSupporting local charities is very important and it&#8217;s the right thing to do.
