It&#8217;s a great opportunity to bring the community together,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/2017\/11\/21\/womens-running-club-founder-coach-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lucy Marland<\/a>, head of the group.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So far, raffle prizes include a kitchen hamper, a signed photo of Welsh rugby union star Sam Warburton and a selection of children\u2019s toys.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tickets are \u00a32 and can be purchased the group\u2019s secure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.me\/SplottCommVol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PayPal link<\/a>.<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;All proceeds raised will go towards the work we do with people in food poverty and bringing the community together,&#8221; said Ms Marland.<br \/>\nThis will involve a range of community projects, helping to give people essential skills and better their situations.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As well as the chance to meet Santa and win one of the 12 raffle prizes,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the event will provide an opportunity for visitors to donate items for the group to give to those less fortunate in Cardiff.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are asking people to bring in small donations for some bags which we are collecting for people who may be in difficult situations such as without a permanent residence and those residing in hostels,\u201d said Ms Marland.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For more information on what to donate or how to buy raffle tickets, contact Splott Community Volunteers via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/splottcommvols\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> or get in touch with Lucy on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eatrunlearn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A SPLOTT charity is raising money to help those struggling to afford food in Cardiff over the festive period.
