Noise, Traffic. It\u2019s a joke. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;And stating that they can&#8217;t park within 1.5 miles of the accommodation, yeah okay lets see that happen. I&#8217;m not looking forward to being constantly blocked in.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Julie Morgan AM said: \u201cParking is already an issue in this area because the streets off Mynachdy Road are narrow and there is frequent parking on the pavements. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;I seriously question the enforceability of the \u2018no car agreement\u2019 as a panacea for preventing students adding serious pressure to local parking.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cResidents are particularly concerned that students will be tempted to park their cars on the North side of the estate, feeling it is sufficiently away from the development site to evade detection.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24908\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24908\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-24908 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/02\/pavement-parking-copy-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Lots of cars are parked on the pavement, Mynachdy Road\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24908\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-24908 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/02\/pavement-parking-copy-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Lots of cars are parked on the pavement, Mynachdy Road\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/noscript> Lots of cars are parked on the pavement, Mynachdy Road<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An additional 16 parking spaces, including four disabled spaces, will be available for the centre and boxing club, which have been described as a valuable resource for the community.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cars and pedestrians will access the site by Raydr Place, but the entrance does not consider cyclists.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Councillor Ashley Wood said: \u201cThis oversight is particularly concerning given the planning application cites sustainable transport as a key element of the development and is used to attempt to justify the parking provision and scale of the development proposed.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Three applications to redevelop the land have been approved in the last 10 years.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Liberty Living currently have eight sites across Cardiff, four of which are a 15 minute walk from the site.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A public meeting is being organised for February, 20. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RESIDENTS claim a parking ban for students near new accommodation being built in their area is &#8220;a joke&#8221;.
