Try something and you might just find your favourite new sound.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout the day, Cardiff as well as the rest of the country, will be celebrating in a variety of ways. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Castle Emporium on Womanby Street will host a free festival, organised by Clwb Ifor Bach and Twrw. The all-day event will include a number of sets from Welsh language bands.<\/span><br \/>\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XAjR44Bxs5U\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XAjR44Bxs5U\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you\u2019re stuck in the office or can\u2019t get down to the event, there are a number of playlists on the website for you to enjoy in your own time.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The day is part of the Welsh Government\u2019s long-term vision to see a million people speaking and using Welsh by 2050.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Leanne Wood, the Plaid Cymru Leader, said: \u201cDydd Miwsig Cymru is an important day in the calendar for our culture, our language and the artists that are writing and recording music in Welsh.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cToday is a chance to showcase some of those wonderful acts we are fortunate to have in Wales and show the world just how beautiful our language is.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Readers of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Cardiffian <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">can get involved as well by nominating your favourite Welsh song and then supporting your choice as we vote to find Cardiff\u2019s favourite track.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get involved by sending your nominations to @cardiffian_news on Twitter and don\u2019t forget the day\u2019s official hashtag, #DyddMiwsigCymru. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The official playlists are available at\u00a0http:\/\/cymraeg.gov.wales\/DyddMiwsigCymru\/Cynnwys\/Playlists\/?lang=en<\/span><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WELSH music lovers across the country celebrate Welsh language music today with a series of events aimed at boosting the language\u2019s profile.
