{"id":26011,"date":"2018-02-23T13:28:00","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T13:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/?p=26011"},"modified":"2018-02-23T13:28:00","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T13:28:00","slug":"wales-women-look-bounce-back-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/2018\/02\/23\/wales-women-look-bounce-back-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Wales women look to bounce back against Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WALES women make a single change for their trip to Ireland in the Six Nations on Sunday.<br \/>\nLisa Neumann will make her first start for Wales slotting in at full-back, while Robyn Wilkins is dropped to the bench.<br \/>\nWales coach Rowland Phillips said: &#8220;Lisa has been pushing hard for a place in the starting team and she deserves her opportunity this Sunday.<br \/>\n&#8220;We have a lot of talented back-three players in the squad, so we think Lisa will slot in well alongside Hannah Bluck and Jess Kavanagh-Williams &#8211; two players who pose threats from the wing.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe change comes after Wales suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the current holders England in their second match of the tournament.<br \/>\nPhillips will be looking for his side to bounce back after their 52-0 defeat, he said: \u201cWe need to show that we&#8217;re improving in the areas that we&#8217;ve been working on this year.<br \/>\n&#8220;This will be a game between two very evenly-matched teams, and coming off the back of the last match we&#8217;re very keen to give a good account of ourselves.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe last time the two sides faced each other Ireland ran away winners in the Six Nations warm-up in Ystrad Mynach earlier this year.<br \/>\nSpeaking about facing Ireland on Sunday Phillips said: &#8220;They&#8217;ve got a lot of new personnel across the board, but the team is settled and experienced. It&#8217;s up for us to show what we&#8217;re about as a team.
