RONNIE O\u2019Sullivan will play John Higgins in the Welsh Open quarter-finals after beating Englishman Mike Dunn 4-0.<\/span>
\nThe world number two, who has still not lost a frame this tournament, eased past Dunn to set up a tasty looking match against Higgins in the last eight. <\/span>
\nAfter the match, O\u2019Sullivan said: \u201cObviously John [Higgins] is one of the all time greats. He\u2019s up there with [Stephen] Hendry, the two best players I\u2019ve ever played. <\/span>
\n\u201cSo I think I\u2019ll have to improve slightly on what I\u2019ve shown so far this week. But, when you do play players of John\u2019s class, generally you either find it or you don\u2019t, so I\u2019m looking forward to it.\u201d<\/span>
\nHiggins beat Nigel Bond 4-0 in the last 16 and has looked comfortable at the table all week. <\/span>
\nO\u2019Sullivan continued: \u201cThings are going alright. You just have to focus on the next match, stay present and just try keep everything ticking along nicely.\u201d<\/span>
\nElsewhere, the last Welshman standing, Matthew Stevens, lost 2-4 against Yan Bingtao. <\/span>
\nAfter going two frames down, Stevens fought back to 2-2 before slipping to defeat. <\/span>
\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019m happy with the way I\u2019m hitting the ball so I feel very positive going into the World Championship. So head down, work hard and I think there could be good things coming.\u201d<\/span>
\nThere had been complaints regarding the speed of the tables at the Motorpoint Arena from various players, including Stevens and Higgins, on Thursday. <\/span>
\nThe Welshman said: \u201cJust set fire to the table to be honest, the table was horrendous.<\/span>
\n\u201cEvery cushion was bouncing. You can see the standard, it was really tough out there.<\/span>
\n\u201cIt\u2019s just a shame the difference between that [table two] and table one, it\u2019s like playing a different sport.\u201d<\/span>
\nYan Bingtao will now play eighth seed Barry Hawkins, who beat Martin Gould 4-2.<\/span>
\nTo complete the quarter final matches, Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham will play world number 100 Ian Burns and Garry Wilson will face off against Yu De Lu. <\/span>
\nSaengkham overcame Kyren Wilson 4-0 and Burns, who is now the lowest ranked player in the competition, beat fellow Englishman 4-3 Liam Highfield in a closely fought contest. <\/span>
\nGary Wilson beat compatriot John Astley 4-2 and Yu De Lu eased past Liang Wenbo 4-1.<\/span>
\nAll quarter-finals will take place today and will be first to five frames.\u00a0<\/span>
