Between April 2014 and March 2016, we delivered over \u00a337m investment on flood and coastal defence capital schemes, providing improved protection to 1,123 properties.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe way in which flood risk management work in Wales is prioritised is complex and needs to take account of a wide array of factors which includes relative risk but also economic justification, deliverability and funding availability.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The group had previously sent two petitions to the Welsh Assembly&#8217;s Petitions Committee,<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/2018\/02\/27\/roath-tree-campaigners-win-government-support\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the latest of which received 8,700 signatures<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, who will now ask NRW \u201chow such an unpopular scheme has gone so far\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A GROUP is calling for a halt to tree felling as part of a flood protection scheme in Roath while an independent review into the necessity of the work takes place.
