RADYR Comprehensive School has been named \u2018Welsh State School of the Year\u2019 in the Sunday Times Schools Guide 2019.
\nThe annual guide ranks the 2,000 highest achieving schools in the UK by their recent examination results.
\nThe school which has over 1,200 pupils, was awarded the title due to the sharp improvements in results at both GCSE and A-level.
\nThis year, 72% of A-level students obtained grades ranging between A*- B. Of these, 53% were A*- A grades, up 17% on last year.
\nDr John Roe, Director of Radyr Sixth Form said: \u201cWe are incredibly proud that the progress\u00a0our school is making has been recognised nationally by the Sunday Times.
