I believe that would help boost involvement.\u201d<br \/>\nLucas Howell from Splott, says: \u201cFor me it\u2019s simple, if a person can get their National Insurance number at 16 and work, why shouldn\u2019t they vote?\u201d<br \/>\nHowever, not everyone has agreed with the introduction of the Bill.<br \/>\nAlex Nahmad-Rohen, 31, has said: \u201cI think voters should be informed on what they are voting for.<br \/>\n\u201cNot informed as in \u2018I\u2019ve read the news\u2019, informed as in \u2018I\u2019ve properly studied this field and therefore think this\u2019.<br \/>\n\u201cSo introduced this week in plenary<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nElin Jones, presiding officer of the Commission, said the aim was to \u201cempower and inspire young people to participate in the democratic process.<br \/>\n\u201cIt goes hand in hand with need of political education that will enable young people to understand their political rights.\u201d<br \/>\nShe says they are working with the \u201crelevant stakeholders\u201d to ensure that the appropriate information and education reaches as many young people as possible.<br \/>\nAdding that the \u201cimportant constitutional bill\u201d will extend the \u201cfranchise\u201d of the Welsh Government by including and engaging younger people.<br \/>\nJeremy Miles, Council General, said the Government are \u201csupportive\u201d of the bill \u2013 adding that he hopes it will in the future the right to vote will include foreign nationals who are legal residents and prisoners.<br \/>\nConservative AM David Melding welcomed the \u201cimportance of political education in schools\u201d saying \u201cwe need to do something to prepare our younger citizens\u201d.<br \/>\nElin Jones and the Commission have already begun the process by writing to every school in Wales with a resource pack with lesson plans focusing on the engagement and debate of the vote at 16.<br \/>\nThe Bill will also aim to change the Welsh Assembly\u2019s name to The Senedd as well as changing the law on who can stand for election.<br \/>\nIt will also proposes to change other electoral and internal arrangements such as extending the Assembly\u2019s first Plenary from seven days to 14 after election.<br \/>\nAfter 20 years of Wales having devolved powers Elin Jones said this is a \u201cgolden opportunity to renew our democracy\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Senedd and Elections (Wales) Bill is yet to go through the legislative process and will require 40 votes to be passed when put to the
