for a week.<br \/>\nOlaf Turner, 2, is a Bengal cat who has hundreds of friends in the community and even a dedicated Facebook page with almost 300 followers.<br \/>\nThis is because he spends most of his time away from home, often in the shops that surround his owner&#8217;s house.<br \/>\nBut on February 12 when Olaf didn&#8217;t come home for dinner, his family were alarmed.<br \/>\nHis &#8216;mother&#8217;, Emma Turner, 38, was concerned that someone might have catnapped him\u00a0because he is so famous in the area.<br \/>\nHowever, he was finally found on Saturday, February 16, by one of his fans who works at a phone shop on Holton Road.<br \/>\nOlaf tends to slink from shop to shop, between Richard Street and Tynewydd Road in Barry.<br \/>\nThe cat protection store on Holton Road has a bed in the store\u2019s window for Olaf and is one of his favourite snoozing spots.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><script async=\"1\" defer=\"1\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_GB\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v8.0\" nonce=\"wwCDY1xc\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10156071150947987&amp;set=p.10156071150947987&amp;type=3&amp;theater\" data-width=\"750\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10156071150947987&amp;set=p.10156071150947987&amp;type=3\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\"><p>Posted by <a href=\"#\" role=\"button\">Denise Hawkins<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10156071150947987&amp;set=p.10156071150947987&amp;type=3\">Thursday, 18 October 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nMs Turner told The Cardiffian: \u201cOlaf thinks that he is a French Bulldog. He doesn\u2019t act like a cat really.<br \/>\n\u201cIf we take the dogs on a walk, he comes on a walk with us. If we take the dogs to the park, he just follows us and runs around the park with the dogs.\u201d<br \/>\nOut of fear that someone might mistake Olaf for a stray, Ms Turner created a Facebook page called \u2018Spotted Olaf\u2019 in October 2018, where\u00a0people can post when they see Olaf around town.<br \/>\nMs Turner said that she \u201cjust wants to raise awareness of Olaf, so that everyone knows that it is okay for him to wonder the around her neighbourhood, and he does come home every day.<br \/>\n&#8220;He is with a loving family. He is a really happy and healthy cat.<br \/>\n&#8220;I don\u2019t think that people agree with the way that we look after him. He works at a phone store called Get Connected on Holton Road.<br \/>\nThis store is another one of Olaf\u2019s favourite places to hang out and he can usually be seen lying on the store\u2019s sofa.<br \/>\nMr Griffiths is close to Olaf and would like to think of himself as Olaf\u2019s second owner.<br \/>\nOn most days, he gives him treats and gladly invites him in to spend time with him.<br \/>\nMr Griffiths was planning to go out and look for him on the day that Olaf wandered back into his store.<br \/>\n\u201cWhen he first started working here, I thought he was a stray, even though he is well groomed and well looked after,\u201d Mr Griffiths told The Cardiffian.<br \/>\n\u201cHe is naturally nosy. He just doesn\u2019t stay indoors, and he likes to explore. And every time he comes past I just like to keep an eye on him to know where he is because I have formed a bond with this cat.<br \/>\n\u201cHe is the most outgoing and curious cat I have ever come across. He is not like other cats.\u201d<br \/>\nCarl Stoj, 30, an employee of Superdrug on Holton Road, told the Cardiffian that he is also fond of Olaf.<br \/>\nWhile his store is not one of Olaf\u2019s favourite spots, the cat has hung out there a couple times.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is nice to see him. Most mornings I see him hovering around here, waiting around shops until they open so that he can go in and hang out,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nOlaf is now home with his loving family, and you can either follow him on his Facebook page, or see him wondering around the businesses on Holton Road.<br \/>\nAs to what Olaf got up to during that time away from home, it remains a mystery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Bengal cat was reunited with his owners after being &#8216;lost&#8217; for a week.
