The council are fully aware of the dangers of pollution. Why are houses being built in high pollution \u2018red areas\u2019 where there is traffic congestion?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img access routes around the proposed site<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Added traffic in the area would also disrupt businesses, with access to <a aria-label=\"Cardiff Gate Business Park (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiffgate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cardiff Gate Business Park<\/a> becoming a bus-only route. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Three bus routes connect Lisvane to the rest of Cardiff, and the nearest train stations are Lisvane and Thornhill, and Llanishen but residents said the usual two or three carriages are not enough at peak times. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Paul Cauley said: \u201cUnless you\u2019re on the platform by 8.10am, you won\u2019t board the 8.30am train, and you definitely cannot park.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n<div meeting had a high turn out as residents were keen to be heard<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Residents already find the pavements blocked by cars due to a lack of public parking spaces. In the plans, for every 29 flats there are seven car parking spaces, but 30 bike racks. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Councillor Williams said: \u201cWhen you\nlive so far away from the city centre, you have to be reliant on your car. The\nplanning application is inappropriate in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>People also questioned whether there were enough school places available. With no secondary school in the area, 30 primary school children do not have a confirmed place in Year 7 for next September.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Councillor Walker was concerned about what the affected communities would be like to live in. He wants to see the development of new homes that are needed further afield.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cDevelopment must include infrastructure.
