It\u2019s massive. We\u2019re not part of a big chain or anything like that,\u201d Mr Taylor said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the only pub we\u2019ve got in Cardiff and then we\u2019ve got a pub in Llandeilo as well, so it\u2019s quite a big thing for us.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The pub was also recognised at the Food Awards in 2018, winning Gastro Pub of the Year for the south east region of Wales.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Food Awards, among other things, recognises establishments that provide fresh food.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecause we\u2019re a fresh kitchen then we\u2019re able to accommodate for basically anyone\u2019s needs really, because everything is made fresh on the day,\u201d Mr Taylor said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf someone comes in and they\u2019re coeliac, for example, and there\u2019s something on the menu that they can\u2019t have but they really want, then we\u2019ll try and do that dish for them without them being ill.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Rob Pearson, owner of the victorious Gwaelod y Garth Inn said he was \u201cproud, honoured and overwhelmed\u201d at winning the Pub\/Inn of the Year category at the Welsh Hospitality Awards, held in the Exchange Hotel, Cardiff Bay.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Butcher\u2019s Arms, Canton, was the third Cardiff pub in the south east region nominated for the prize.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Owner hopes menu will make his venue stand out from the crowd A RIVERSIDE pub will soon be offering a draught range of vegan, gluten-free and organic beer as it looks to appeal to a wider market.
