I think they\u2019re maybe not wanting to get sweaty running around, as that\nhas always been a big thing with girls and exercise,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve also got to venture quite far\nto the girls\u2019 games, whereas the boys don\u2019t do that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Ruby Malam, 14, plays mid-field and has\ntravelled as far as Abergavenny and Pontypool for games this season.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think boys have the advantage of playing\nfootball a lot in primary school because they advertise it a lot for boys.\nWhereas for girls it\u2019s all about dancing and gymnastics,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always liked football and in\nprimary school I played with the boys, but as I got older it became clear that\nother girls weren\u2019t into it because they never really played it in primary.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Ruby\u2019s idols are England players Eniola Aluko and Fran Kirby. Three years ago, she was a mascot for the Women\u2019s Football Association final. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Jo Stevens, MP for Cardiff Central, expressed support for the team: \u201cIt\u2019s really sad to see the team struggling for players.
