A Vale of Glamorgan Councillor had said they were \u201cmindful to refuse\u201d the application, due to the fact there are several similar restaurants in the area. But it was pushed through with a majority as well as the vote of those from the Town Council.<br \/>\nThe development will cost <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prezzorestaurants.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prezzo<\/a> \u00a3600,000 but will bring 18 jobs to the area, and the company were hoping it would be popular with the town\u2019s affluent, middle class population.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3978\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3978\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3978 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant-300x248.jpg\" alt=\"Bar 44\" width=\"300\" height=\"248\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3978\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3978 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant-300x248.jpg\" alt=\"Bar 44\" width=\"300\" height=\"248\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> The popular Bar 44 in Penarth<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nIt will be the third branch in Cardiff alongside two in the city centre. The plans also mean Penarth will soon have a whopping six pizza places within a mile\u2019s radius in a town becoming saturated with restaurants.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prezzorestaurants.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prezzo<\/a> will be situated in the site previously owned by supermarket SPAR on Windsor Road, controversially next door to popular tapas joint and competitor Bar 44.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3979\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3979\" style=\"width: 181px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3979 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant1-181x300.jpg\" alt=\"Bar 44 director Owen Morgan\" width=\"181\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3979\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3979 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/th_restaurant1-181x300.jpg\" alt=\"Bar 44 director Owen Morgan\" width=\"181\" height=\"300\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Bar 44 director Owen Morgan<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nTheir director, Owen Morgan, said: \u201cWe would hope the new openings obviously wouldn&#8217;t hurt our trade in any way, and I think we are very specialist in what we try to offer to most new openings wouldn&#8217;t clash with ours too much. Only time will tell on that front &#8211; we will just do what we always do which is try to improve every day and never stand still.<br \/>\nAnd it is not just upmarket businesses setting up shop in Penarth. Two sites at either end of the town centre received interest from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dominos.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dominos<\/a>, who eventually opted for the site of former Indian restaurant Tropical Tandoori.<br \/>\nPizza chain <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonyspizza.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony\u2019s<\/a> have also opened their new venture <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonyspizza.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony\u2019s Taste of Italy<\/a> on Herbert Terrace.
