Image: Edd Church<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI did some research on this area and I found that there was\nonly Welsh spoken in this house, they couldn\u2019t speak English. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen the tithe was taken, to see who lived in the village,\nthere were seven people in this house in 1820. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe house was marked \u2018Dim Saesneg\u2019 \u2013 meaning \u2018No English\u2019.\u201d\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He approached Tongwynlais Community Council for help to\ncreate the group. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Linda Morgan, community councillor and Cardiff city councillor for Whitchurch and Tongwynlais, said while a group of people interested in the village\u2019s history already exists, it is not very active and she would love to see it expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was born and bred here, my family goes back generations,\u201d\nshe said. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cAn active group dedicated to putting plaques up to tell the\nstory of our village would be great.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt could encourage the 88,000 yearly tourists to Castell\nCoch to look around the village more.
