disruption for bats, especially the common and soprano pipistrelle species. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Ms Bennett was concerned about the environmental cost of the development and said the council\u2019s decision to remove the forest school area contrasted with its decision to announce a climate emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Other parents were frustrated at the loss of playing space\nfor the pupils and the perceived lack of benefits for the school.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Carmen Roberts, 42, from Fairwater, said: \u201cI have actually\nput in an objection on the principle that it\u2019s going to encroach on this playing\nspace and the kids\u2019 wellbeing. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can see how it would benefit Fitzalan but not necessarily Pwll Coch students, especially if they are not then going on to study at Fitzalan \u2013 so they won\u2019t even get the long-term benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Mr Woolhead said that there had been vague promises but that nothing was set in stone and that parents felt they had been \u201ckept in the dark\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Cardiff councillor for Canton Stephen Cunnah, a governor at Ysgol Pwll Coch, agreed that communication was a problem but said the school would  benefit from the development.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d say it\u2019s teething problems with the new site next to them, there\u2019s just been a problem communicating with Pwll Coch,\u201d he
