He originally had flights booked via Flybe. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>On Wednesday &#8211; the day before Flybe went into administration &#8211; Andrew&nbsp;booked Easyjet flights for himself and his fianc\u00e9e&nbsp;meaning he was ahead of the rush. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey cost \u00a3120 each when we bought them, but&nbsp;I checked&nbsp;later and they\u2019d gone up \u00a3200,\u201d&nbsp;Mr&nbsp;Westcott said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cInstead of booking straight&nbsp;to&nbsp;Cardiff,&nbsp;we\u2019re going to Bristol and&nbsp;we\u2019re going to get there just in time.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Trains between Rhoose and Cardiff Central takes 30 minutes, while passengers&nbsp;from Bristol Airport&nbsp;will need a 50-minute&nbsp;bus ride to Bristol train stations and then a 50-minute train journey to Cardiff Central.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Four out of the nine&nbsp;Easyjet&nbsp;flights on&nbsp;Thursday March 12th and&nbsp;Friday&nbsp;13th&nbsp;are fully booked.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The remaining tickets now cost&nbsp;\u00a3250 for a single leg&nbsp;of the journey&nbsp;\u2013 when according to Google Flights, typical prices for&nbsp;the round-trip would range between \u00a345 and \u00a3150.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Other Scotland fans have been selling their tickets&nbsp;to the game after&nbsp;Flybe\u2019s&nbsp;collapse.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Flybe, which flew&nbsp;from Cardiff&nbsp;Airport, went into administration on Wednesday night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>All its flights&nbsp;nationwide&nbsp;were cancelled immediately.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Scottish airline Loganair has announced it will take over the Cardiff-Edinburgh route from March 23, with an Embraer Regional Jet flying every day except Wednesdays.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It is taking over a total of 16 former&nbsp;Flybe&nbsp;routes from Scotland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A Cardiff Airport spokesperson said that Loganair will have considered earlier dates, but that&nbsp;handling&nbsp;new&nbsp;flights was&nbsp;complicated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are a lot of moving parts&nbsp;in&nbsp;getting an aircraft up to speed,\u201d she&nbsp;said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s quite complex.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A Loganair spokesman said services would start as soon as logistically possible. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Jonathan&nbsp;Hinkles, Loganair\u2019s chief executive, said in a statement:&nbsp;\u201cThe plan represents the outcome of several weeks of behind-the-scenes contingency planning work, during which we\u2019ve evaluated many routes and aircraft.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said he was confident that the plans were robust and sustainable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>But some people who were meant to travel have made light of the situation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>One Twitter user went so far as rewriting a Lewis Capaldi song for a friend whose trip was cancelled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My mate Sam has had her <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/flybe?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@flybe<\/a>  trip to Dublin from Cardiff to see <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LewisCapaldi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LewisCapaldi<\/a>  cancelled I\u2019ve re stirred someone you loved to cheer her up <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eAcdWoJtMN\">pic.twitter.com\/eAcdWoJtMN<\/a><\/p>&mdash; NicHughes (@NicHughes10) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NicHughes10\/status\/1235597139230822400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 5, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Flybe, Wales Rugby Union&nbsp;and Scotland Rugby&nbsp;have been contacted for comment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cardiff Airport have advised passengers to check the Civil Aviation Authority website&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.caa.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.caa.co.uk<\/a>&nbsp;and not to travel to their airport if they had flights booked with&nbsp;Flybe.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four of nine Easyjet&nbsp;flights from Edinburgh to Bristol have sold out&nbsp;&#8211; as ticket prices surge FLYBE&#8217;S collapse has left some rugby fans struggling to get to Cardiff for next week\u2019s Six Nations&nbsp;match as their flights are cancelled.&nbsp; The airline went into administration on Wednesday night, leaving no direct flights between Edinburgh and Cardiff.
