The interior of the building has Ms McLees\u2019s vinyl paintings in glass panes displaying the history of the area.<br \/>\n\u201cI wanted people to be able to take a walk through Splott in time and place. I listened to tales from people around the area and wanted to capture their experiences and memories,\u201d she said.<br \/>\nSome of the images include the chimneys of the steelwork factory and Pengam airport.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4632 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/HP_Painter4_Print-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"HP_Painter4_Print\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4632 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/HP_Painter4_Print-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"HP_Painter4_Print\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/noscript>\u201cWhat Splott represents to a lot of people who do not live in the area is the image of pipes curving up over the steelwork in the distance as they drive around the city,\u201d she explained.<br \/>\nThe work also had to comply with the privacy standards that need to be respected at a surgery.<br \/>\n\u201cI had to have the right balance between limited visual access, allowing patients to see what is going on and creating art.<br \/>\n\u201cThat is why I made small windows rather than a floor-to-ceiling piece. This allows privacy and the idea is to convey the gap in the steelwork fence.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/HP_Painter3_Print1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4631\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/HP_Painter3_Print1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"HP_Painter3_Print\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4631\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/HP_Painter3_Print1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"HP_Painter3_Print\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cThe windows also represent snippets of memories being pieced together. People can link these up to memories they have, something that belongs to them.\u201d<br \/>\nIn other works Ms McLees experiments with various fabrics and paint. Her recent collection of tree images uses different plant pigments as colour.\u00a0She also uses materials such as fibreglass and silicon.<br \/>\nOver the coming months she will be preparing an outdoor feature on the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
