But Grangetown library will be closing for building work on 7 March. Cardiff Council estimates the work will take up to six months and will transform the library into a bigger hub, offering a range of new services to the residents of Grangetown.<br \/>\nBut for Mrs Miller those six months are going to be hard. She says: \u201cI\u2019m partially sighted and I rely on the audio\u00a0books so it means I have to go all the way to Canton or go into town.\u201d<br \/>\nCanton library is 1.1 miles away from Mrs Miller\u2019s house on Wynnstay Close, more than 20 minutes walk for someone walking at an average pace.\u201cI\u2019ll have to go by bus, it\u2019s terrible for me. I\u2019m just getting over a broken leg and I can just about walk,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nThe library development is part of the Grangetown Regeneration Programme, which the council says: \u201chas the aim of revitalising the social and economic heart of the community.\u201d<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4942\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4942\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/CF_Grangetwon2_web.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-4942 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/CF_Grangetwon2_web-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Grangetown Library \" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4942\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4942 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/CF_Grangetwon2_web-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Grangetown Library \" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Grangetown Library is due to close for six months from 7 March for building work, which will transform the existing building into a bigger community hub<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe scheme also include plans to redevelop the old tram shed and the regeneration of the Clare Road, Penarth Road and Corporation Road junction.<br \/>\nMrs Miller said: \u201cIt doesn\u2019t make any difference to me, as long as the library is there. I rely on it, really it\u2019s my lifeline.
