Supporters and an anonymous donor helped finance Wild Thing\u2019s return to its roots <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A MUCH-LOVED vegan community caf\u00e9 is set to return to its roots in Grangetown after a successful fundraiser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2020, Wild Thing moved to Cathays permanently after the Grangetown caf\u00e9 landlord raised the rent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Crowdfunder <\/a>was set up to finance the return to Grangetown in November 2020. The community raised \u00a320,000 for the caf\u00e9 and one anonymous individual stumped up a personal donation of \u00a35,000. As a result, cafe owner Lauren Saunders was able to secure a building on Penarth Road in Grangetown which will open in addition to the Cathays outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After more than a year since the fundraiser began, the lease has been signed. Now Ms Saunders is just waiting for the keys to be handed over.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
