Residents and politicians urge more action to reduce the effects of rising bills<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

CAMPAIGNERS are to make a stand across Cardiff throughout the week as citizens have become increasingly worried about the cost-of-living crisis.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, low-income households across Wales will “bear the brunt<\/a>” of more expensive energy costs, shop prices and taxes as the UK experiences an increase in inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to combat this are being taken by the Welsh Government through provisions including \u00a3150 of council tax credit and the Winter Fuel Support Scheme<\/a> which, it was announced today, will have its contribution doubled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But some people think current measures do not go far enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Johannes, 42, from Adamsdown, is secretary of Cardiff People\u2019s Assembly which is holding a protest on Saturday to demand more Government action. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
