TfW are beginning to consult on the footbridge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said TfW would be hosting a community drop-in on Thursday, March 3 at Llandaff North Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, residents are disappointed with the lack of communication by TfW so far. Many were not even aware of the proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Whitchurch resident, who did not want to be named, is among those whose plots at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outdoorcardiff.com\/get-involved\/allotments\/\">allotments<\/a> would be affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am losing my whole plot this year \u2013 and when I get it back it will probably be unusable after all the work . I am trying to get another one sorted, but I cannot replace eight years of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I do support the bridge as it will be much safer for everyone in the community, but I am gutted about my plot. The allotment committee are doing everything they can to help me, but you cannot replace the work done and the time and money put into it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resident is seeking compensation, but they are not hopeful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today we met with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tfwrail?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@tfwrail<\/a> &amp; Llandaff North residents to discuss the proposed footbridge.<br><br>The weather prevented our site visit, but <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tfwrail?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@tfwrail<\/a> has an engagement session at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LlandaffNHub?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LlandaffNHub<\/a> on 3rd March, 2-7pm &amp; they\u2019ve committed to working closely with residents on design &amp; concerns. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ROKHrjuwTK\">pic.twitter.com\/ROKHrjuwTK<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Anna McMorrin MP \ud83c\udff4\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc62\udb40\udc77\udb40\udc6c\udb40\udc73\udb40\udc7f\ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\ud83c\udf08 (@AnnaMcMorrin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnnaMcMorrin\/status\/1494750533692841985?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other residents had not heard about the plan until councillors revealed on Friday that they had hosted a consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 40 people attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnnaMcMorrin\/status\/1494750533692841985\">Zoom<\/a> meeting, including local representatives and staff from TfW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julie Morgan MS, who organised the Friday meeting with Anna McMorrin MP, said: \u201cAfter concerns were raised with us about the lack of communication and consultation by Transport for Wales on the plans for the new footbridge near Llandaf station, we were keen to organise a meeting so that local residents and Llandaff North allotment holders could learn more about the proposals and have the opportunity to put forward their questions and concerns directly to TfW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a very productive meeting.\u00a0Transport for Wales were keen to listen to residents\u2019 views and agreed to take on board suggestions of how the design of the bridge could be amended so that any impact on neighbouring properties would be minimal.\u00a0 They also committed to attending an on-site meeting with residents as soon as Anna and I can arrange it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnna and I will remain in touch with local residents and we will continue to press Transport for Wales to increase its community engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents within 200m of the works have been contacted, and other members of the community are invited to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DilwarAliLAB\/status\/1495050053509173248\">engagement session<\/a> next Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steph Wilkins, 52, of Ty-Mawr Road, said: \u201cI am annoyed at the lack of communication and consultation, and how TfW treats residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m surprised and disappointed as the Welsh Government awarded them the contract and I thought they&#8217;d hold them to higher standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What footbridge.
