We wanted to provide vegetarian food but we want to cater to everybody.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cPeople who are vegetarian or vegan come in because they know what I do here. We provide a lot of vegetarian food,\u201d he explained.<br \/>\nBut he believes it is more than just the food that draws people in.\u00a0In an area with many takeaway restaurants Mr Achrak thinks he offers something different.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6771\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6771\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1293.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-6771 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1293-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Mr Achrak believes it is more than just the food bringing customers back to Falafel Kitchen\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6771\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6771 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1293-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Mr Achrak believes it is more than just the food bringing customers back to Falafel Kitchen\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Mr Achrak believes it is more than just the food bringing customers back to Falafel Kitchen<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cIt is not just the food we sell but the atmosphere we create.\u00a0We try to be friendly with people and treat them right.<br \/>\n&#8220;The idea is to be different. If you do the same as everyone else then there is no point. We get involved with people here.&#8221;<br \/>\nAnd while meat-free food is no longer exclusively on the menu at Falafel Kitchen, Mr Achrak, who used to run Falafel Cafe on Woodville Road, believes the way vegetarian customers are treated is part of why they come back.<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cIf someone comes in, particularly if they are a new customer, we will always ask if they are vegetarian.\u00a0That way we know to recommend things on the menu for them and show them what we provide.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6768\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6768\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1287.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-6768 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1287-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1287\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6768\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6768 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_1287-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1287\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Mr Achrak hard at work at Falafel Kitchen<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&#8220;If we treat people right and not just like pound signs then they will like what we have.&#8221;<br \/>\nMr Achrak thinks it is important people who come into the restaurant can expect to be provided with what they need whether they eat meat or not.<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cVegetarians are a great community for us we have to cater for them and give them more choices.\u00a0We get people from the vegetarian community regularly so we make sure we can keep them happy.\u201d<br \/>\nThose who give up meat can always find vegetarian and vegan options at Falafel Kitchenm whether it is Meat Free Week or not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IT is Meat Free Week in the UK this week and has given many people the opportunity to try eating as a vegetarian for the first time.
