Over the past four years our local volunteers have become extremely knowledgeable about their archaeology and history and this exhibition seemed like a perfect fit.\u201d<br \/>\nThe trip was initially going to be funded by prize money the project won in a national public engagement competition in 2014.<br \/>\nBut thanks to the generosity of the British Museum and the Welsh Government Fusion: Tackling Poverty through Culture programme the trip has been paid for.<br \/>\nThe hillfort was the subject of a Channel 4\u00a0Time Team programme which\u00a0aired in early 2013.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7154\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7154\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Balance-of-Power.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7154\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Balance-of-Power-300x188.png\" alt=\"Caerau hillfort\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7154\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7154\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Balance-of-Power-300x188.png\" alt=\"Caerau hillfort\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> <strong>Caerau&#8217;s Iron Age hillfort<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFrom the outset the project has aimed to put local people at the heart of cutting-edge archaeological research and challenge unfounded stereotypes ascribed to this part of Cardiff.<br \/>\nThe volunteers will have a special guide around the London exhibition.<br \/>\n\u201cIn the way that things always seem to do with this project, things fell in to place nicely.
