The area was cleaned up by Cardiff Council last November following a plea from neighbours, but has now returned to its old state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisestay.co.uk\">WiseStay<\/a> Guesthouse on Fitzhamon Embankment, just around the corner from the hostel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a good impression. Even from a safety perspective, it\u2019s right by the Principality and you\u2019ll have families walking there,\u201d said Mr Lowe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had customers complain about the noise and rowdiness. While the issue doesn\u2019t affect our business directly it affects the area which in turn affects our reputation a bit,\u201d said the 26-year-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucia Attanasio also works at WiseStay, owned by the <a href=\"https:\/\/aaronwise.co.uk\">Aaron Wise group<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe get good reviews, but we also get people saying it\u2019s not safe after dark,\u201d said Ms Attanasio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking past the former hostel along the river Taff, another staff member Luke Hull pointed out discarded cans of solvent, saline solution, alcohol cans and used needles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"NosDa Hostel to Principality Stadium\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HnzMwKY6aO0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"NosDa Hostel to Principality Stadium\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HnzMwKY6aO0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>NosDa hostel is located a few hundred yards away from Principality Stadium<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI walk along here five or six times a day. One time I saw a man pacing back and forwards while just weeing, it\u2019s not nice,\u201d said Mr Hull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Lowe said more safe spaces for drug users, and support for addicts should be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Need to protect the vulnerable<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Salma Zaman, 35, of De Burgh Street, Riverside, echoed this view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMore help is needed to help those suffering from addiction to quit and to overcome<br>personal trauma. It\u2019s important that they are treated with respect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy main concern is my children\u2019s safety,\u201d said the father of four, who has also seen used needles strewn around Despenser Gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespenser Gardens is usually full of children. Fights outside the refuge, residents shouting out of the window, and people congregating outside NosDa have sparked complaints, said Mr Hull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8216;Eyesore&#8217; views from luxury hotel<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aaron Wise group owns six properties in the area and Mr Hull believes its studios on 62 We would urge people to report these issues in when they see them using the council\u2019s app, as then we can ensure they are cleared as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A council spokesperson said: \u201cThe council cleaned and secured the site late last year, but it appears that one of the gates has been broken enabling access.
