{"id":81041,"date":"2024-01-30T14:16:23","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T14:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/?p=81041"},"modified":"2024-01-30T15:47:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T15:47:49","slug":"london-marathon-pain-nothing-compared-to-my-friends-battle-with-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cardiffjournalism.co.uk\/thecardiffian\/2024\/01\/30\/london-marathon-pain-nothing-compared-to-my-friends-battle-with-mental-health\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;London Marathon pain nothing compared to my friends&#8217; battle with mental health&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Siobhan Corria is raising money in memory of two friends lost to suicide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A GOOD samaritan who ran the Cardiff half marathon in a wedding dress is tackling her first marathon to raise \u00a33,000 in memory of two friends who took their own lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siobhan Corria, 45, from Llandaff North, is running the London Marathon in April to remember Elin Boyle and Tom Higgins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elin was a popular teacher at Ysgol Gyfun Plasmawr when she died in 2019 aged 43. There will be stalls selling Mother\u2019s Day hampers, hand-made cards and toiletries at the centre as well as refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other event will take place at Llandaff North Rugby Club on April 13, a week before the London Marathon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The London Marathon will not be Siobhan\u2019s first time raising money for charity, however. The married couple managed to raise \u00a35,000 in Mark&#8217;s memory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2022 Siobhan and Terence ran the Cardiff Half Marathon in bride and groom outfits to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust before their wedding at Cardiff&#8217;s City Hall on December 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family also hold a yearly 5-a-side football tournament, the Mark Canning Cup. In 2023, the tournament raised \u00a31,000 for the UK Sepsis Trust.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can support Siobhan&#8217;s London Marathon run at <a
