The newly-rebranded Dragons are looking for their first win of the Netball Super League season<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CARDIFF Dragons host their first home match of the season against Manchester Thunder at the House of Sport tonight (7pm) looking to build on their draw encouraging in the opening round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a strong performance in the 48-48 draw with Saracens Mavericks last weekend, new signing and captain Nia Jones is hoping to get over the winning line this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones called on the Cardiff crowd to come to House of Sport and support them: \u201cI know how passionate the Green Army are, so we need them at their loud and proud best on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe absolutely love playing in Cardiff and we want other teams to dread it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff\u2019s attack was impressive in the opening round with Wales international Georgia Rowe shooting with 100% success, whilst Hannah Passmore scored 23 goals on debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New signings Jones, Leah Middleton and Jacqui Newton provided a solid platform for their attacking talent, with Middleton and Newton combining for 14 gains on debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhilst it\u2019s nice to be commended for our performance in round one, we see it as an opportunity missed, which only makes us hungrier,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having undergone a re-brand in the off-season, newly-named Cardiff Dragons will be facing a tough test in four-time champions Manchester Thunder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thunder claimed a notable 56-40 victory against last year\u2019s defeated finalists London Pulse in the opening round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
