The Lijertwoods were not aware of his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was an absolute nightmare,\u201d said Ms Lijertwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHad we been a few seconds further into our journey, it would have been a completely different story.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe potentially wouldn\u2019t have walked away from that crash,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They had been on their way to the wedding of his best friend after dropping their then five-year-old son off at his grandmother&#8217;s house. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reuben, who is now seven, suffered bruises to his back in the crash and went on to have night terrors as a result.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInitially we had to completely change his bedroom because he was too scared to sleep. wonders what could have happened if their car was hit further up the road, and they fell into the Heol Las (Green Lane) Reen, which runs parallel to the road.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s had where there was a crash, and both vehicles were on their roofs, you just think that could have been us,\u201d she said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said her focus is on road safety, despite the \u201cfinancial headache\u201d caused by the crash, including money lost buying a new car to replace the totalled Citroen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retiree Mark Dawkes, 54, also prefers to avoid St Mellons Road.\u00a0He says bushes have obscured signs advising drivers of the bridge on the bend of the road.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is very hard to approach that, and you have to do it with great caution,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embedpress-google-maps-block The edge of the road is supposed to be a give-way section, but the markings have faded over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnybody who knows the area knows that the natural course of the road,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, he says, some drivers either don\u2019t know or don\u2019t care.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve seen I&#8217;ve seen vans and lorries and cars go straight across there and add some speed,&#8221;
