Credit: Haris Armstrong<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Evans\u2019s pride in Glynne Street, which she repeatedly referred to as being in Pontcanna not Canton, was evident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have had so many derogatory comments about the house and why we are still here. People can\u2019t believe that it is worth as much as it is,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julia \u2018Ann\u2019 Stack, who lives at number 39, also values the impact of the coloured houses. \u201cIt makes the street look really nice, I just like the brightness of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere has been a ripple effect and people have all started to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 77-year-old\u2019s house is painted in mint green, a colour carefully chosen to compliment potted plants on the outside window ledges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLots of us put different plants outside to contrast the colours, this is especially good at Christmas when the lights are out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8216;<strong>I wish more of them would do it&#8217;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Ms Stack and Ms Evans want the whole street to be painted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI go to Tenby quite often and I really like it, all the houses are painted,\u201d said Ms Stack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI wish some of them would do it across the road, it would look really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img remain white, brown and grey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Evans hopes that, as seen in 2018, there can be a flurry of residents deciding to paint their houses in quick succession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter the two girls moved in next door in 2016, the whole thing sort of burst open,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople followed suit quite quickly after that, it would be nice if it continued,\u201d she
