Organisers hope that attracting more people to use the gardens will discourage anti-social behaviour.<br \/>\n\u201cIt goes back to the broken windows thing really. If an area doesn\u2019t look nice people won\u2019t take ownership of it,\u201d said project organiser Emma Robinson at a consultation event at Cardiff University where the plans were unveiled.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Cogan-Gardens--e1456489624270.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9385\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9385 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Cogan-Gardens--e1456489624270.jpg\" alt=\"Cogan Gardens\" width=\"740\" height=\"1048\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9385 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cardiffian.jomec.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Cogan-Gardens--e1456489624270.jpg\" alt=\"Cogan Gardens\" width=\"740\" height=\"1048\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><br \/>\nThe Cathays Regeneration Project is made up of members of Cardiff Council, South Wales Police, Cardiff University and other local bodies.<br \/>\nStudents from the University\u2019s School of Human and Planning Geography carried out research for the project and Student Volunteering Cardiff will provide the labour.<br \/>\nThe consultation, which can also be filled-in online, closes on March 23. The Cathays regeneration team will then start work on a final design. Renovation work is due to start in January 2017, depending on funding.<br \/>\nMs Robinson said: \u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of interest since announcing the project. Other agencies like Public Health Wales and South Wales Fire and Rescue have been interested and we\u2019ve been approached by a couple of individual donors.\u201d<br \/>\nAnyone interested is welcome to the consultation at the Sherman Cymru Theatre tomorrow at 10am.
