Ever since we started, we\u2019ve raised money for Mind in both our Newport branch and our old Cwmbran branch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canton venue opened its doors in November 2024, making this the first time they\u2019ve held a cook-off in their new home.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 able to do the same here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is what we do, we like to give back as much as we can to the community.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the cook-offs raise money for good causes, the owners believe that the scheme is at the heart of what their business is about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSelling burgers puts food on the table, but this is the sort of stuff that gets us up in the morning,\u201d Mr Phillips said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme went down a treat with customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One customer, Cora Collier, 24, said: \u201cI saw the scheme and immediately was like \u2018Yeah, I\u2019d love to donate.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt really encourages people and shows that local businesses are in tune with the community.
